Let’s Get Real Monday, courtesy of Randi at I Have to Say…
—What is one good habit that I have?
Thankful Thursday is, I think, a good habit. I don’t always remember to post my list on my blog (OK, I rarely remember), but I do sit down every Thursday and list out the things I have to be grateful for. I try to not let it be the same things over and over.
—What is one bad habit that I have?
I pick at my lips and my cuticles. It’s just a habit that I got into a while back and I can’t seem to stop.
—What is one habit that I would like to cultivate in my life?
I would like to get back in the habit of walking and bicycling instead of driving everywhere. Driving has become a habit with me recently. We miss so much of the world when we drive.

i wish I could exchange walking and cycling with driving, but we live way on the outskirts of town. It has its benefits, but getting around easily isn’t one of them!
Thanks for playing along!

Your thankful habit is a good one, Sarah. I think it’s easy to get into the habit of saying, “thank you for my home, thank you for my family, thank you for this food, etc.” without thinking deeper of the many other things God has blessed us with…so I love your idea of thinking of new things each week
Blessings,

I, too, love to take time out of my days and weeks to think of the things I am most thankful for, no matter how small they seem. The little things make the biggest differences in our lives.

The list of things you are grateful for is such a great idea ♥
We live to far out to bicycle anywhere, too. The only way into town is on four lane roads, or through brush…

I used to have a friend who lived just outside a town (like 1-2 miles away) and she always rode her horse into town for errands, which I thought just seemed absolutely dreamy. I’m sure it’s not as picturesque as I imagine, though, and I guess she lived somewhere that sort of thing was common/accepted.
I feel like we live just far enough away from everywhere we want to go that it makes biking/walking impractical. We can get groceries on foot, but that means we have to go to the more expensive store. We can’t walk to the library, and it’s a reaaaaaaly long bike ride. But we could still be doing better than we are right now!
About the thankfulness - I’m glad everyone who has posted has understood what I meant. Sometimes I feel like I’m saying that I’m not still grateful for the obvious things - home, enough food, husband, child, family, good business, etc. I AM. But there are so many other little things, too.
Thanks for the happy comments!!
