Wallypop Orders

Topstitching

I’ve been busily working on Wallypop orders this week. This is a fitted diaper for a good-sized order for a local mom. I got her order finished up last night, and have about another 2 days’ worth of work ahead of me on retail orders, then a wholesale order!

Knit Washcloths

Wally Modeling a Washcloth

Knit washclothes are fun to make and fun to use. I’ve got several listed over at Etsy now, and I ended up keeping many of the ones I made for myself! We’ve been using knit clothes that we inherited, and loved them so much I decided to give washcloth knitting a try. It’s really fun and easy, and also provides nearly instant gratification since they can be finished so quickly.

Things I’m Loving

OK, considering I have a large stockpile of FOE (fold over elastic) that I use for diapers, I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I had never considered using it for shirts like this, courtesy of one of my fave craft bloggers, Angry Chicken.

Old School Acres‘ new hand-carved stamps (purchased from Craft Pudding).

A review of SouleMama’s book The Creative Family: How to Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections and interview with Amanda Soule at WhipUp. I’ve got this book on my “accidentally put in the cart next time I’m shopping at Amazon” list.

Two skirts for me

Circle Skirt

Wrap Skirt

I had a few minutes yesterday, so I put together these two skirts that I’ve had cut out for over a year now. The first one is a circle skirt with a knit waistband, made from a fun summery cotton print. The second one is a wrap skirt, made from the same pattern as this dress. The fabric is a nice weight linen and I love the embroidered design.

Both skirts are super comfortable and I’m wearing the linen one right now!

Absent Much?

Wool Covers

You know, I haven’t been posting much, because I’ve mostly been working on filling Made To Order orders from Wallypop - diapers and carriers - and I consider that to be somewhat mundane. Additionally, we haven’t had a sunny day for what seems like 10 years, so it’s been very difficult to take decent pictures. (And the two sunny days we did have, I was outside with Wally having fun, not taking pictures of projects!!)

But what the heck, I’ve decided I may just as well start posting pictures of order sewing and instock sewing, since that’s what I’ll be doing for most of the next two months.

So, here you go! The picture above is four wool covers sewn for a large order headed for California hopefully tomorrow. I have three wet bags and two Cycle Pads to make today before it gets all packed up and headed out the door.

Red Wool Soakers

A little pair of knitted soakers. These are NOT my first soakers, not even my first using this pattern, but I’m actually a little surprised by how sloppy I was on the seaming! And one leg ended up slightly bigger than the other - I was definitely knitting tighter when I did the first leg!

Ah, well. I still think they’re awfully cute, all bright and red. And they’re not for sale, they’re for someone I know, so I think the small imperfections are forgivable.
