Flapper

Flapper : 58/366

I sewed this up quick over the weekend. Our dance troupe has a show coming up in March with a Roaring 20s theme. The dress turned out quite a bit shorter than I anticipated, but it doesn’t look as bad as it feels. (It feels like I’m mostly naked, but I’m used to wearing skirts that hit my ankles.)

I’m not thrilled with the way it turned out. I hate sewing with these materials, and the shoulder straps sit a little funny on my chest. But, it looks OK for the most part!

I don’t know about you, but…

Winter

I’m completely sick of winter. We had a decent fall, weather-wise, but it seems that since December, we’ve been stuck in this cycle of snow, cold, snow, cold. It hasn’t been above freezing for weeks and we get new snow every few days.

I’d love to play outside, but at these temps, I can’t even muster up the courage to run errands!

So Serious About Knitting

I’ve been working on some cotton washclothes to take to March’s Craft Saturday.

Knitting : 49/366

Apparently, I think it’s quite serious. I should have some FO pics soon!

Not much Happening

I lost my mom and picked up my sewing machine on the same day, two weeks ago Friday. The several days following a death are such a whirlwind of activity and now I am exhausted. Some things had to be let go, so all of the non-paying work is officially let go for now. I’m focusing on getting my messy house cleaned up (we have a bunch of boxes of miscellany from my mom’s house here now) and getting caught up on Wallypop and Blvd Designs orders. I have actually turned down requests for custom items recently, as well.

Today, I finished two adorable crab totes, which I hope to photograph tomorrow.
